Mrs. Naylor

Hello, my name is Wendy Naylor and this is my 5th year at Tri-City as a high school science teacher.  I have the privilege of teaching Honors Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Honors Biology, Physical Science, and Health/PE.  My first career was as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, which I have been for almost 15 years.  However, five years ago God called me away from full-time nursing and into teaching, opening the door for me at Tri-City after my older son’s first year in K5.  It was a huge leap of faith, but after much prayer, I knew this was God’s will for my life.  Every day since has been a blessing, and I am humbled that He has called me to such a noble task.

Coming from a public school in Pennsylvania and public universities, Virginia Tech and The Medical University of South Carolina, I could never have comprehended the significance of what a Christian education represents.  In my classroom, I have the privilege of not only teaching my subject matter from a Christian perspective (no “monkey business!”:)), but also of proclaiming the name of Jesus through each and every one of my lessons.  It is an honor that I, and my fellow staff members, do not take lightly; for as teachers, we fully understand the magnitude of God’s statement in James 3:1, “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgement.”  It is not just a school, it is a ministry, and we are all disciples who have accepted His call for the furtherance of His Kingdom.

The added benefit of teaching at Tri-City is the family atmosphere that has been created among students and staff.  I love each and every one of my students as if they were my own.  We have laughed together, cried together, rejoiced and mourned together.  We support and encourage each other, pray for one another, and strive to hold each other accountable.  I have learned more in these past years from my students than I could ever put into words.  I often stand in awe of their spiritual maturity, enthusiasm, and desire to pursue God.  They challenge me to be a better person and follower of Christ!  I could not imagine a more rewarding place to be, and pray that God continues to allow me to be a part of Tri-City.
