Jaime Coltrane's Testimony

My name is Jaime Coltrane.  God has blessed me with the opportunity to serve Him, through teaching for ten years, and I am currently in my fifth year of teaching at TCCS.  I count it a privilege and honor to invest in the lives of many students.  I am currently teaching fourth through sixth-grade History and Science, along with fifth grade Bible and Reading.  The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband of almost 19 years and four wonderful teenagers.

As a teenager, I felt the calling of the Lord to be involved in some sort of Christian ministry. The Lord led this quiet Kansas girl to Richmond, Virginia to attend a small Bible College.  Of course, this is where I met my husband, David Coltrane Jr., but it wasn’t until my senior year that I felt the call of teaching on my life.  Once I received my Elementary Education degree, I was ready to share my knowledge and love for the Lord to many children of various ages.

I don’t take it lightly that I have the opportunity to teach in a Christian School where I can share my love for the Lord with my students at any time.  I know many wonderful Christian teachers who don’t have that same opportunity.  It thrills my heart to integrate who God is, what He has done, and what He will do with my students.

As a Christian parent and teacher, it is our job to share the love of Jesus through our words and actions. Children and teenagers today have to overcome much more than we had to as children.  As teachers and parents, we need to team together to make this generation strong, strong enough to overcome the sin of this world, strong enough to withstand the peer pressure they are faced with on a daily occurrence.  As a parent and teacher, it does concerns me to see what this generation may face but I am confident we can equip them with the right tools.  I am thankful to be a part of that team!!
